Baseball Players to Watch Out For in the Area Round

As the Texas high school baseball playoffs heat up, teams across every classification are rising to the occasion — and so are their standout players. From dominant pitchers to clutch hitters, here are the athletes making noise as they head into the area round this weekend.

6A D1 – Hebron – Minjae Seo, Sr., P

The Hebron Hawks are red hot, and Florida commit Minjea Seo is a huge part of that momentum. Expect Seo to take the mound with confidence as Hebron faces Arlington on May 8th.

6A D2 – PSJA – Jacob Delgadillo, Sr., P/C

Jacob Delgadillo, an Odessa College commit, has been a key piece for the PSJA Bears. His ability to dominate

on the mound will be crucial as they take on Clemens in the playoffs.

5A D1 – Smithson Valley – Bryce Wells, Sr., C

Smithson Valley is rolling through the postseason, and senior catcher Bryce Wells is leading the charge. The Rangers will look to stay hot as they face a tough Seguin squad this weekend.

5A D2 – Lovejoy – Asher Lacy, Sr., 3B/P

Lovejoy looks like a team on a mission to return to state. Senior Asher Lacy is making big-time contributions on both sides of the ball. The Leopards take on The Colony this weekend.

4A D1 – Calallen – Chase Lynch, Sr., OF

The Wildcats have been dominant all season, and senior outfielder Chase Lynch continues to lead with his bat. Calallen takes on El Campo with their eyes on a deep run.

4A D2 – Fort Worth Benbrook – Kade Cross, Sr., OF

Multi-sport athlete Kade Cross has Fort Worth Benbrook baseball surging this spring. The senior’s leadership will be key as the Bobcats take on Brock in a big-time matchup.

3A D1 – Orangefield – Kaleb Menard, Jr., P/OF

Junior pitcher and outfielder Kaleb Menard is showing out this season. Orangefield is peaking at the right time and will face Van Vleck in the area round.

3A D2 – Boyd – Jax Heid, Sr., SS

Yavapai College commit Jax Heid is locked in for a postseason run. The senior shortstop is the heart of the Yellowjackets’ squad, who will face Chisum this weekend.

2A D1 – New Home – Graham Stanford, Sr., P/C/OF

New Home is making noise once again in the playoffs, and senior Graham Stanford is leading the charge. The Leopards will take on Wellington Thursday in a game to watch.

2A D2 – Bowie – Lukas Dodson, Sr., P/OF

Bowie has been a force in 2A D2 this year, and senior Lukas Dodson is a major reason why. After a big win over Big Sandy, the Jackrabbits will play Overton this weekend.

1A – Nazareth – Breck Proctor, Jr., SS/P

The Swifties are one of the top teams in 1A, and junior Breck Proctor is having a standout season. With his talent on the field, don’t be surprised to see Nazareth in Round Rock.
