The UIL Boys Golf State Championships delivered a week of unforgettable performances across all six classifications, as both powerhouse programs and rising newcomers left their mark on Texas high school golf history.
6A: Westlake's Dynasty Continues, Asher Claims Individual Title
Westlake High School added yet another chapter to its golf legacy, capturing its 14th state title, proving once again why it's considered the gold standard in Texas golf. Meanwhile, Asher Vargas from Conroe Grand Oaks etched his name in the record books by claiming the 6A individual state championship.
5A: Walnut Grove Strikes Gold in Year Two
In just its second year competing in the UIL, Prosper Walnut Grove stunned the field by securing the 5A team championship, an incredible feat for the young program. On the individual side, Luke Colton from Frisco Wakeland successfully defended his title, winning his second consecutive 5A individual championship.
4A: Bridgeport Goes Back-to-Back, Green Takes the Crown
Bridgeport showed no signs of slowing down, going back-to-back as the 4A state champions. Their dominance was further underlined by Aiden Green, who took home the individual title, bringing double gold back to the program.
3A: Wall Hawks Soar to Victory
In 3A, the Wall Hawks rose to the occasion and clinched the team state title, while Andrew Bird from Central Heights High School emerged victorious in the individual championship, capping off a stellar season.
2A: Sonora Repeats, Thompson Shines
It was another banner year for Sonora, who went back-to-back as 2A state champions. Individually, Walt Thompson of Goldthwaite earned the spotlight, taking home the 2A individual title.
1A: Wildorado Makes History
Wildorado made school history by winning their first-ever Boys Golf Team State Championship in 1A competition. Bo Bradley from Texline captured the individual title, closing out a championship week filled with firsts and records.
From perennial dynasties to brand-new programs, this year’s state tournament highlighted the depth and talent of Texas high school golf. Congratulations to all the teams and individuals who left it all on the course!
