Julian Reese and Palo Duro Staying Focused on the Present

Palo Duro came out fast, taking advantage of early turnovers and turning them into points as the Dons built momentum in the first half.

For senior Julian Reese, capitalizing on those opportunities is an important part of what Palo Duro wants to do each week.

“It’s very important to take advantage of what the defense gives us and the offense, and keep on moving,” Reese said.

After putting together an undefeated regular season last year, Palo Duro has another big goal this season: do it again.

But Reese says the key is making sure the team doesn’t get caught looking too far ahead.

“As far as practice, attacking each practice like a game and going day by day,” Reese said. “Don’t think ahead.

Think about what’s happening right now.”

For Reese, his senior season also has an added meaning because he gets the opportunity to share the field with his younger brother, Jordan Reese.

When asked about his favorite part of playing Texas high school football, Julian didn’t hesitate.

“Playing with my little brother,” he said.

With both Reese brothers taking the field for Palo Duro, Julian is making the most of his final high school season while the Dons continue chasing their goals one game at a time.
